How the Venmo fee calculation works
Venmo fees on business profile, Tap to Pay and goods and services payments, plus Instant Transfer: what you keep from a payment, or what to charge to receive an exact amount.
Pick how you're paid
Business profile payments cost 1.9% + $0.10. Tap to Pay costs 2.29% + $0.09. Goods and services payments to a personal profile cost 2.99%.
Work out the payment fee
On a $100 business profile payment the fee is $1.90 + $0.10 = $2.00, so $98.00 reaches your Venmo balance.
Decide how to cash out
The standard transfer is free. Instant Transfer costs 1.75%, at least $0.25 and at most $25: $1.72 on $98, leaving $96.28.
Price to cover the fee
Switch to "Find what to charge". To keep $100 from a business profile payment, charge $102.04.
Worked example. A $100 payment to a Venmo business profile costs $2.00 (1.9% + $0.10), leaving $98.00. Moving it with Instant Transfer costs another $1.72, so $96.28 lands in your bank. To keep a full $100, charge $102.04.
